An architect by education, Marta Dell’Ovo holds a PhD in Architecture, Built environment and Construction engineering at Politecnico di Milano, with the thesis entitled “Decision Support System for the Location of Healthcare Facilities. SitHealth Evaluation Tool”.

During her career as PhD candidate, she spent a period abroad at Universidade Católica de Brasília and at Universidade Federal de Pernambuco as visiting. She graduated in 2015 in Architecture (Master degree) at Politecnico di Milano and in 2011, with honours, in Science of the Architecture (Bachelor degree) at Università di Roma “La Sapienza”.

During her studies she attended courses and workshops at qualified research institutes and Italian and foreign Universities that allowed her to investigate issues related to the Multicriteria Analysis, GIS, Spatial Multicriteria.

Analysis, Stakeholder Analysis and Decision Support Processes, such as the course in Spatial Multicriteria Analysis at Università di Trento and the Summer School in Multiple Criteria Decision Aid and Making (MCDA/M) in Recife (Brazil) organized by the Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making.

In detail she has acquired skills to evaluate plans, projects and resources under the economic, environmental and social dimensions guided by a multidisciplinary approach and according to a research perspective focused and social dimensions guided by a multidisciplinary approach and according to a research perspective focused on investigating the demand of the territory and considering the tangible and intangible values that it expresses.

These skills have been then applied in the scientific researches in which she has been involved.

Within the PhD she had the opportunity to participate and present her research in several national and international conferences, and in 2017 she was awarded by the Euro Working Group on Decision Support

Systems (EWG-DSS) as young researcher of the year with the paper “Multicriteria decision making for healthcare facilities with FITradeoff method” presented during the 3rd International Conference in Decision Support System Technology at Namur, Belgium, 29th-31st May 2017.

She is currently a member of the Society on Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM), the Euro Working Group on Multi-Criteria Decision Aiding (EWG-MCDA) and the Euro Working Group on Decision Support System (EWG-DSS).
